After spending a couple of days honing our skills at Hazy IPAs, we decided to try our hand at another incarnation of the style: the mythical milkshake IPA.
Just like our other hazy IPAs, this DIPA is low in bitterness while still high in hop flavor, using lactose sugar to balance out the vigorous dry-hopping of dank and tropical hops like Idaho 7, Citra, and Vic Secret. (Think Gay IPA with Pineapple!) You could almost be forgiven for thinking we just dry-hopped an unfrozen daiquiri and put it in a bottle. Almost. What’s certain is that this is a drink deserving of a cocktail umbrella.
