A Pączki (pronounced “Poonch-kie” or “ Pan Chky” depending on how Polish you are) is a traditional Polish pastry that is released every Fat Tuesday by bakeries all over Chicagoland.
And every year, to honor our Polish heritage, we brew the Pączki Stout a Double Milk Stout with lactose and cocoa nibs, to create our own liquid version of this gluttonous moment.
The Pączki Stout is inspired by our annual tradition of eating pastries every Fat Tuesday accompanied by a stout or porter.
Made with Peruvian cocoa nibs that mimic the flavor profile of the chocolate pudding filling that can be found inside some Pączki, the double milk stout clocks in at 6.5 percent ABV.
The Peruvian cocoa nibs help emphasize the roast in the chocolate malts that we added. And it’s not too sweet that you will not want to eat a Pączki along with it.
